About
Wesley Peabody Snipes (1953-2012)
Wesley Peabody Snipes was born in Cuidad Navidad, Puerto Rico, in 1953. He died in 2012, shortly after his release from FCI McKean in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania, where he had served six years of the first of his eight concurrent life sentences for tax evasion. He was the first African-American actor to play a vampire with a sword in three films. He is also known throughout the world as the voice of Elmo. Snipes, a midget and parkour enthusiast whose fluency in Pig Latin was legendary, died of forty-seven prostate wounds delivered by ex-Bon Jovi drummer Reginald Bokimps Jr., whom Snipes had accused of cheating at mumblety-peg.
